Family Central's Training Academy's, Parent Leadership Training Institute’s Design Team in partnership with the local cities is pleased to offer several free opportunities for parents, grandparents, guardians and others to become leaders and advocates for children. Candidates are selected from a pool of diverse applicants from Broward County who have an interest in developing leadership skills. 

 

The Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI)

 Parent Leadership Training Institute Team in partnership with the Stamford Public Education Foundation is pleased to announce 8th Cohort of Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) where in-depth leadership training will be offered to 18-25 selected participants. Broward PLTI is looking for parents, grandparents, guardians or other adults wishing to improve the lives of children, families, and communities to join the 2024 PLTI program beginning this April in a hybrid setting.

Participants will become advocates for children through:

– An in-person Saturday community-building retreat TBD

– A 10-week virtual instructional course on community and personal development, plus an in-person Saturday session

– A 10-week virtual civics course on politics, policy and media

– A written community project

Candidates will be selected from a pool of diverse applicants. The Institute is free; your contribution is your time and commitment. The training will be offered in a hybrid model, with a virtual orientation and a in-person retreat on Saturday, and classes continuing on Tuesday evenings for 20 weeks. Classes are from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm, beginning with networking and social time from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm. The training will be offered only in English.

Participating families and children will receive children's book every week!
